The Arizona Education Consortium(AEC) is pleased to offer an Academic Scholarship award. This award is designed to recognize academic achievement and provide financial assistance to eligible college students pursuing a degree from any school that is a current member of the Arizona Education Consortium.
AEC Academic Award:
Applicants must have demonstrated outstanding academic performance in the community college or university setting. GPA requirement for application is 3.50 for undergraduate students or 3.70 for graduate students. At least one $1,000.00 scholarship will be awarded.
Scholarship Requirements and Information
- Application and required supporting materials must be postmarked by July 20, 2008.
- Applicant must be officially admitted to a regionally accredited institution that is a member of the Arizona Education Consortium.
- Applicant must be currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program (Associate, Bachelor, Master or Doctorate) and have completed at least 15 credit hours at the undergraduate level or 9 credit hours at the graduate level.
- Students must be enrolled at least half-time (6 credit hours), although preference will be given to full-time students (9 credit hours at the graduate level, or 12 credit hours at the undergraduate level).
- The selected recipient will be selected and notified by August 15, 2008.
- Only the selected winner will be notified.
To Apply:
- Complete the official AEC Scholarship Application.
- Submit a 300-500 word essay describing your career goals, academic accomplishments, community service experiences, honors, awards and other scholarships.
- Submit unofficial transcripts showing current enrollment and cumulative GPA. If transcripts do not show current enrollment, you must also submit an official verification of enrollment. The selected recipient will be required to submit official transcripts in order to claim the award.
- Submit 1 Letter of Recommendation (ie. From Faculty, Employer, Community Service Agency or other individuals who are familiar with your work, educational experience, or community involvement). Letters of recommendation from friends or family are considered inappropriate.
